Fast of the Firstborn Study and Siyum
Monday, April 22, 2024 • 14 Nisan 5784
9:00 AM - 10:00 AMSpielberg ChapelIt is an ancient and widespread custom for the firstborn to fast on the day before Passover. This commemorates the miracle which spared the firstborn Jewish sons from the plague which struck down the firstborn sons of the Egyptians. After the text study, we will enjoy a treat to break the fast, a siyum celebration, which, according to prevailing custom, creates an atmosphere of rejoicing that overrides the requirement to continue the fast.
